Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do you only grow apples?

Yes, apples are the only fruit we grow on the farm. For a great list of all the pick-your-own farms in Connecticut, visit Pickyourown.org.

2. Do I have to pick my own?

No, we also have certain varieties of apples available in the store. We also sell pies, cider (in season), and other apple-related products.

3. What kind of apples do you have?

The crop varies by month and year. Some varieties only grow every-other year so even though you bought a certain apple last year, we may not have it this season. Our trees include: Cortland, McIntosh, Mutsu, Empire, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Macoun, Northern Spy, Spygold, and Spartan. Please call or email us to find out if a certain variety is currently available.

4. What kind of pie do you sell?

Apple, Apple Crumb and Cran-Apple. For Thanksgiving and Christmas we offer a larger selection available by special order. Please visit the store for more information.

5. Do you make the pie?

All our pies are made here in Ledyard, Connecticut. They are mixed and assembled by hand on the farm and then frozen, unbaked. When you purchase a pie to take home, follow the directions on the box for a fresh-baked homemade dessert.

6. Are your apples organic?

No. To be certified as organic, farms must follow specific guidelines. We use non-controlled pesticides (like what you would buy at a garden store) to grow our apples. It means they aren't always the prettiest, but we pride ourselves on their taste and quality.
